if it's an electric water heater it has 2 thermostats a lower and an upper. There are covers near the top and bottom of the water heater on ths sides. Take the covers off and set the temps the same for each. There should be some kind of markings on the inside, you'll need a screwdriver. You may have to move a piece of insulation out of the way to see them tho.

If it's gas, the thermostat control is near the bottom of the heater, turn it up past warm a little bit, this will put you in the 120 - 130 degree range. You'll hear the burner kick on when you turn it up. The electric will make no noticable noise really but you may hear it hissing if it's quiet.

This depends on type of hot water heater you have and if there is any thing wrong other than the temperture setting...if it is electric you can turn water temperature up...there should be either one or two doors on side of water heater ...remove these... remove insulation if there is any....you should be able to see temperature setting there ...if it is lower than 120 degrees turn it up ...if there is two of these one on top and bottom.... turn both of them to same temperature....if it is already at that temperature check voltage....if voltage is correct then one or the other thermostat is bad...the way a electric heater works is that when you use hot water cold water comes into heater but it goes to the bottom of heater...then bottom element will come on until you use a lot of hot water then top element will come on and bottom one will turn off...once you stop using hot water the top element will stay on until the water in the top of the heater gets to the temp set by thermostat....then bottom element comes back on and heats the water in the bottom of heater until desired temperature is reached ..then thermostat turns it off and waits for you to use more water ...then the whole cycle will be repeated .................................if it is gas heater it will have knob on gas valve to set temperature...it might have degrees marked or it may just say hotter with arrow pointing in that direction....it will have some kind of marks to allow you to adjust temp...move knob a little at a time until you get desired temp...it this doesnt work you need a new gas valve for your heater....

There is a thermostat on the hot water heater. I have mine turned up all the way cuz i really like hot hot water, but that's where you can adjust the temperature. It'll take a couple of hours or more to get it past lukewarm.

Don't u love it when a woman can give advice on this kind of stove????

Go to the water heater and find the thermostat. Turn it to 120 degrees or Medium. Let it heat for a while and adjust from there. If you just moved in, the heater was probably set to the lowest setting to conserve energy.
