you have to import your favorites from IE.

If you are inside a school (or business), you are probably behind a firewall. You probably need to set proxy information to be able to get to your sites. Unfortunately that information will be unique to your school.

Did you go to preferences and make sure it accepts cookies? Your machine may be set up to not accept and that's why the pages won't load?
