What must the "people" in charge in Teheran do before people in the West realize just what a dangerous regime it is?

They are illegally working on a nuclear weapons program, which their president happily announces will be used to blow Israel off the map, and now they engage in piracy to kidnap 15 sailors and Royal Marines from a Royal Navy vessel operating in Iraqi waters!

If ever a nation has simply begged to be attacked, it is Iran. I say we do so.

n. cognito: therein lies my main philosophical gripe with the peacenik types. Who ever told you war was meant to be fought politely? The ONLY thing I care about is whether we win.

trickdwire: This is a serious question. I'm sorry your comprehension level doesn't allow you to grasp that fact.

I am stunned by the pathetically misinformed people who are answering your question with biased answers...with the exception of cuddles and Sir Hard and Thick.

Iran is a nation ruled by Muslim extremists who REALLY believe in world domination.

The Islamic quest for power will NEVER END until their dream of a whole world bound by Islam (which means submission) is fulfilled.

Enter Iran:
Iran is a nation that believes that it is the spearhead of Islam and the rightful nation that will make the world bow down to Allah.

It says so in the Koran that their "Imam" will soon return. The "Imam" is a religious figure (kinda like Christ) who is supposed to come in a second coming...but the Koran says that that won't happen until the world is dominated by Islamic nations.

Thus, the Iranians have "elected" themselves to lead the Islamic revolution and have taken up their deadly goal of intimidiation, show-of force, and flexing of muscles against the "Crusader oppressors."

That is why they are rigorlessly developing the nuclear bomb under the pretense of energy. They want it to put an end to Israel for good.

Fortunately for them and "Damn it" for us, the Middle East situation is currently HIGHLY FAVORABLE to Iran and it's apocalyptic ambitions.

It is a situation in which we have everything to lose and they have the upper hand. Iraq is in shambles and Iran is actively helping the insurgents there. It is suspected that Iran is also involved in Afganistan.

In the middle of all this, they rejoiced when the bill to pull out troops from Iraq passed the Senate.

They rejoiced when Tony Blair pulled out many British troops last month...AND SO...to put the pressure on the British government and people, they commited INTERNATIONAL PIRACY by kidnapping British personnel from a British vessel.

Now they use those kidnapped men and woman as bargaining chips to justify their deeds and further their ambition.

Their goal is to WEAKEN the resolve of the UK in Middle East matters. It is also to show the world what they are capable of doing.

So yes, they are begging to be invaded...they want us to attack them BUT THE SITUATION IS FAVORABLE FOR THEM!

If we attack them, they will turn Iran, Iraq, and Afganistan, and maybe Israel into an all out battlefield.

So, as much as you and I want Iran to be turned into a glowing parking lot, the decision that has to be made by our President, is will we do so?

I am all for an attack and I am physically capable for military duty and I am 20.

dude catch a clue we don't have what it takes to take on Iran, Russia, and China, while a agree that this guy is a lunatic, we need to be very careful about what actions we take. I mean we have troops doing double and triple tours just because we don't have anyone else to replace them. We have not even finished our job in Afghanistan or Iraq, and we all thought going in this would or should be easy! We are not the great power house we used to be, and we have now demonstrated this to the entire world! and what will happen to our economy? can you imagine what we will be paying for gasoline then? and just sitting here at my desk i have picked up ten items and six of them are made in china, so what happens when we go to war and they stop shipping to us. it won't be long until we are paying 20 bucks for a box of paper clips. this is not quite as easy as just saying lets blow them off the map!

This planet does not need a 'large glowing' anything.
There is no rational use for nuclear weapons, and no sense in starting another 'Shock-and-Awe' mess over yet another possible threat.

The followup problems in Iraq pale before the worldwide crisis that a nuclear attack would cause.

Iran knows that the pacifist of the world now run things and history is going to repeat itself. The willingness of the super powers to permit radicals to expand their power is happening again. While liberals hold down the Us and England the rest of Europe is cowering under the fear of Muslim insurrections. The Media continues to downplay the threat while they push pacification. When will people wise up and do something?? Hopefully very soon.

Nice thought but it's only a thought. Why kill so many innocent people in Iran just to get one terrorist president out? We need another Carlos Hathcock to do his job. If you don't know who Carlos is, google it and learn.

you do know that Aminidinjassface does not represent the Iranian people.. and that most of the Iranians are actually pro-American, very well educated, and not that different from ourselves... not that that should matter.. turning a nation into a glass parking lot should never be an option.

Parking lot huh? begging to be attacked huh?

Guess you don't care about the poor and defenceless Iranians who are in no position to change their situation.
There are kids and women, the old and the handicapped in Iran.
They are not the monsters.
They did not choose their government.
They are not at fault.
How many refugees must be created or killed before you are happy?

It's too far away from everything to be a parking lot. Maybe a landfill.

Hate to break it to you, but just because it's leaders are bad, doesn't make the country inherently bad. Furthermore, the whole "Wah, I don't like him, I'll nuke him" solution is retarded, hardly thought out, and a dangerous solution, to the environment and to the reputation of the United States.

We should never use a nuke first. Do you really think the Iranians are capable of hitting the U.S. with one of their missiles?

Israel is the nation that is rightly concerned about nuke in Iran.
