Can anyone suggest me some good anti-virus other than Norton available which is reliable too?

major anti-virus software is notorious for hogging system resources. Norton, McAfee, and Trend Micro PC-Cillin are among that list.

I've found AVG is fairly un-intrusive and free.

Personally, i don't use anti-virus. I just use windows firewall and ADAWARE. Keep in mind that i shy away from risky things such as hacker and porn web sites, as well as not use P2P file share programs like limewire, kazaa, and torrent.

For that, i keep a junk box with no protection at all, that i usually end up reformatting about every 6 months. When i download something with my junk box, i scan it, use it, and monitor all activities to make sure the file is lagit before transfering it to my good machine.

1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://spywarekiller.hyperboards.com/index.php?action=view_topic&topic_id=4 do that now .Update it (Latest updates 28-3-2007) and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode

If your looking to pay for one Kapersky or trent micro you can also do free online virus scans using them. Panda software i find is the best to do an online virus scan. Free ones avg.
