we just installed this graphics card and when we play games it keeps crashing the system.

The only thing I can think of other than maybe a driver issue would be that the minimum sytem requirements for that GPU is a 350 watt PCI express compliant PSU ( power supply unit ) and motherboard.

It's commonly referred to as "bottle necking".

Almost all modern video cards need a decent CPU to go with it.
If the video card is too powerful and the CPU is too slow the video card is wasted because the CPU can't deliver info as fast as a video card can take it.

This will sometimes generate a crash during such a processing intensive game.
