It is not the flimsy kind. That layer peeled off easily. This lookes to be about 3 more layers and the only way I can get it off is by scraping it with a knife.

use lots of liquid, either water or windex while scrapping with a razor blade. It will come right off, with minimal elbow grease.

Reason, I say use liuid is to prevent scratching the windows.

I used to install tint at Ziebart.

Use one of those hand-held steamers that are available for steaming the wrinkles out of clothes. The steam softens the tint and the adhesive at the same time and you can just use a plastic scraper to remove the tint. I've been doing it this way on car and house windows both for years. Also, if you have and area where you can set it up, a warm mist vaporizer does the job much faster. They're just a bit hard to use on car windows.

I found this is the site below. I hope it helps:

Can I remove the old window tinting from my car windows?

Yes, it is possible, but it is not recommended because of the probability of damage to embedded defrosting systems and antennas. Even places which install tinting will advise you that if they remove old tinting, it is possible to damage those things. If you want to remove your own, you'll need lots of water, some ammonia and Goo-Gone, a razor blade, and a heat gun or hair dryer. Due to liability, further instructions are not included herein.

try lighter fluid if you have any lying around. lighter fluid also takes off spray paint if your veh ever gets spray painted by some a.h.'s. and don't smoke while doing it!
