if you say its a ploy to get kicked out of the game, why not just throw a balk? Or did you fool the runner to cause it was a balk?

there is no such thing as a 2-3 pick-off with a balk. When a balk is called any runner that is on the bases get to advance one base without getting thrown out on that base. The only way you will see a 2-3 pick-off is if the runner from third base is on the squeeze play or he/she is stealing home. Any smart player will be watching the pitcher and looking for when is the perfect time to steal or move to the next base. And a good pitcher would be working on his game so that he doesn't get called for a balk. Because a balk is a movement or lack there of that would give the pitcher an advantage over the batter or runner on base.

I can answer your question about the balk but am not sure what you mean about getting kicked out of a game. A 2-3 pickoff "attempt" is when the pitcher (#2 by position number) attempts to pickoff the runner by throwing to the 1st baseman (#3 by position number). A balk occurs when the pitcher does not come to a full stop in his set position before he makes the pickoff attempt. A balk can also occur when the pitchers leg makes forward motion towards home plate as if to pitch the ball and then he turns back to throw. In other words he must make a decision to either throw to the batter or make a pickoff attempt and go through with that decision. If the pitcher makes a balk the runner is awarded the next base. Balks are not common, but some left-handed pitchers will be very difficult for a runner at 1st base to judge because their leg kicks right in their direction and is more difficult to judge whether or not he will throw to the batter or to 1st base. A right handed pitcher actually has to turn his whole body around to throw the ball making it more obvious to the runner that it is a pickoff attempt. I think that about covers it all!!

Balks do not get anyone kicked out of a game.

If a pitcher is throwing to third base to pick off a baserunner and does not step off the plate on the mound correctly, the runner advances to home plate, and maybe his manager comes out and pulls the pitcher from the game. That's the best I can come up with.

Don't worry---a lot of people don't understand what a balk is.

A balk cannot get you ejected. I belive you may be referring to the new 3-2 move when a righty steps towards third, fakes a throw and spins 270 degrees an atttempts to pick off the runner at second. It happened in sprign training and the pitcher balked by not directly stepping towards third base. The manager argued the call and was ejected.

PS -- a pitcher does not have to come set before a pickoff move -- just to let y'all know.

I was a pitcher in HS and my first baseman (#3) would sometimes do fake tags with a runner on after I threw the ball. After the pitch he would run to the bag and act like he caught the ball from the catcher(#2) and tag the runner and 1 umpire told him if he did that again he would call a balk....but im not sure if thats a rule or anything.

R u sure players cant be in foul territory bcuz didnt LaRussa bring in the right fielder and stand him behind the cathcer to protect against a passed ball? Or maybe he tried to and couldnt. But i thought i heard this a few yrs ago. idk if this is what u meant by ur question but hope it is lol

A 2-3 p/o involves the catcher throwing down to first and picking of the runner there. No where in that play or that attemtped play is there any possibility of a balk.

Please, do yoiurself a favour and learn a bit about scoring games and about the rules of the game. When you've done so, you'll see why no one can even understand your question.

the only scenario I know is the rule that all the players have to be in fair territory except the catcher,So this could happen, the catcher throws down to first base ,but at the time of the pitch the first baseman had 1 or both feet in foul territory, this would be considered a players balk.but i have never seen it called before.

I have been playing and watching baseball for nearly 20 years and I have never heard of that. That makes no sense whatsoever.

I'm sure you know what you're saying but the rest of us don't. You need to be more clear on what you want to say.
