Is it illegal for a boss to record conversations in the workplace between other employees, for example, to place a concealed recording device in an office where employees are, the boss is no where around and no other employee knows the device is there. I'm in the state of GA (USA).

Georgia law forbids eavesdropping in private places, your work place is not considered a private place.

Your employer is permitted to video or eavesdrop in his place of business without notifying those being taped etc.

As the law varies in different states, you had best check with the Attorney General of Georgia, for a firm ruling. My personal opinion,is that this constitutes an invasion of privacy, unless all the employees are warned.
