Just never say something like, "My friend works here," or "I heard it was a good job." List some of your talents and why you think you would be a valuable asset to the company, and also why you think you would enjoy working for them.

filling out an app or is it interview? If an application, you should highlight your talents that you think would most fit the position for which you are applying. If it's an interview, you do the same, but emphasize how you think the company could most utilize you. Tell the interviewer what you know about the company and how you've heard that it attracts good people and treats them right.
