How fast should platy fry be growing? I have a couple of platy fry that are about three weeks old and they don't seem to be much bigger than ones that were born two days ago... about when should they be about twice the width they are when they are born? Are my platy fry growing at a normal rate? (I feed them the same food that I feed the adults, only crushed up... its Livebearer food by Nutrafin)

Three weeks should have made a sifnificant difference in their size, but even at three weeks they would be all that large yet. You may wish to very their diet a bit and offer some frozen food like daphnia or baby brine shrimp every few days. Feeding them several times a day will also increase growth rate.

Temperature and water also are major factors in growth. Keep the tank warm (78-82F) and change up to 50% of the water every day or two. Both of those will significantly increase growth.

Hope that helps.

it is going to take a couple of minutes happy you place it in a separate tank the others will kill it. I made that mistake the others killed ever toddler I had. the explanation dumb me replaced into cleansing tank and that i took toddlers out then positioned them back in. properly that replaced right into a large mistake.
