I used to be a mobile disc jockey. I gave the wedding couple a questionnaire asking for specific favorites and also about the people coming to the reception.
You need a wide favorite especially at the beginning when older guests are there. A fast paced polka and a waltz to get them dancing. The usual bunny hop and hokey poky for kids and adults to get together on the floor.
Keep the music upbeat. Also depends on if you have a band or disc jockey.
For some reason people always like rock classics like -
'What I like About You' 'Old Time Rock n Roll' 'The locomotion' that's always good for getting a lot of people out on the floor. Thereare two versions you can play back to back to keep the line going.

Well, the classical Canon in D is very formal for a wedding, and it is a beautiful piece! Try looking it up on limewire, or some other music site to listen to it! Enjoy! Hope you like the song!

Hello there!

I am studying to be a Wedding Planner and during my research I came acrss a very, very good website.

Here is the link:
http://www.ourweddingsongs.com/

It is so good for songs for different parts of the wedding - down the aisle, during the reception, for the DJ, for the father daughter dance, etc.

I really reccommend it!
And congratualtions to the couple :)

I love you , By Saigon Kick, Is Really nice. =-D

I may not be the man I wanted to
I may not be the king of wit
I may not know the things you need to know
I might not measure up quite yet

I may not have the grace of Fred Astaire
I may not have the mind of Jung
I cannot buy the things you need to have
But there is something you can't forget

I love you
I love you
Through the fires
in all of hell
something I can't stop
I love you

It may not seem that I care enough
I may not take the time to say
You can't leave me standing here alone
Until you hear what I have to say

I love you
I love you
Through the fires
In all of hell
It's something I can't stop
I love you
