It can be any movie you thought was going to be awesome at first/hyped about seeing, and now that you look back at it, eh, it embarrasses you.

Titanic was out for about 3 years before I saw it the first time, good movie but nothing to go weirdo over. The movie I made too much of would have to be Drop Dead Fred, it was a phase, I had kids that age at the time.

Like many other nerds, I was incredibly excited for the first "Star Wars" prequel. I think everyone on the planet can universally agree that that movie was a prime example of media oversaturation, unwarranted hype, and was, in short, a terrible disappointment.

Do you mean a film that we liked when we first saw it, but now think we were silly for it? Or one that we thought would be awesome when it came out and then it was actually terrible?

I actually thought Independence Day was awesome the first time I saw it. Now I realize it was unredeemable crap.
I thought POTC2 would be in the same class as the first, but it was mediocre at best.

"Lady in the Water". I'm a huge fan of Shamalyan's work, but the movie was...weird. Embarassingly bad. I don't defend his work much anymore. It's too bad, really, I still think he has a lot of talent, but he really needs to let someone help him with the screenplays.

Daredevil was banned in Malaysia so when i got my hands on it, it already had this notorious quality about it so when i watched it i thought it was really great especially when he touches the female lead's face to 'see' her. but now that i think about it....it was really bad...
