Not real ones but little statues. They are all over the historic district of my town.

They are put there to scare off other birds. If you have a pidgeon problem, like the birds are pooping all over the place, you can purchase the owl statues and put them in a place where it would scare off the other birds. Bird poop, and alot of it is gross and the historic sites want the site to stay clean.

It will keep other birds from roosting in the eaves. I use them sometime to keep unwanted flocks of birds from roosting in my trees.

Supposed to scare the pigeons and other birds away so they don't nest and make messes of the fronts of the buildings.

they are there to scare away woodpeckers, woodpeckers like to live in peoples eves, I had one and they make a birdhouse of your eves.

put there to prevent other birds, esp pidgeons from roosting there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
