That flower is a "viola odorata", or Sweet violet. It grows all over America and it flowers in the very early spring. This fl;ower is also edible. Add it to salads or just eat raw!

Its the flower on a paote cactus and it grows in the Rio Grande valley of Texas.

the flowers in your bouquet--at a quick glance --look like some type of proteas--they are south african plants, if grown in the u.s. would be in one of the southern frost free/nearly areas........
