It's important because Saudi Arabia is one of our few allies in the Middle East.

We are there illegally. We invaded under false pretense. Murdered the heads of state and instituted our own government. The lies about terrorist and WMD have been told so many times that the people of our great country no longer question why we are there.

The 2 things that I find to be almost amusing are:
1) The Iran problem would not exist if the idiot Saddam was in power.(he kept those real phsycos in check)
2) Someday when we are gone the people of Iraq will revert to some form of totalitarian government that thumbs their nose at the US.

True, but Hitler used his friend and foe alike and this is whats happening right now. The King of Saudi Arabia supports Iran in the region and with good cause, as much as people want to deny OIL they must understand the control of it. Don't rule out this mastermind plan, have the US leave Iraq let the Iranians come to Iraq and take control of the OIL, then entice the US go back to Iraq, but now where will we put our troops, in Israel? The The Saudi now aliened with Iran, will not let us use Saudi Arabia as a lunching pad to fight the Iranians. They are pursuing Iraq just as hard as we are and spending way less money.

Of course it's illegal.
That's what I have been saying all along.
Please go and examine the sequence of events leading up to the war in Iraq.
This war is NOT sanctioned by the UN.

September 16, 2004
" The United Nations secretary general, Kofi Annan, declared explicitly for the first time last night that the US-led war on Iraq was illegal.

Mr Annan said that the invasion was not sanctioned by the UN security council or in accordance with the UN's founding charter. In an interview with the BBC World Service broadcast last night, he was asked outright if the war was illegal. He replied: "Yes, if you wish." "

Bush and his administration made up a bunch of lies, ignored the UN inspectors and bullied his way through the security council. He invaded Iraq and now, years later, there is still no light at the end of the tunnel for the Iraqis.

Mark my words, Bush will face the consequences in the future.
Now, thumbs down all you want.
I am not the one who has to worry after the term ends.

Yeah. Saudi Arabia is our ally. Just like Pakistan, which is doing nothing about terrorist camps. Some allies. If we have to pull our troops out of Iraq then we should use them to lay waste on the Middle East and carpetbomb the entire region.

But...if you READ the news story....Saudi Arabia was a 'silent' ally starting out in 2003!
We launched a large portion of the war from Saudi Arabia!

It is nothing more than the Sauds trying to make it appear that their relationship with the Bush family is minimal. They are benefiting more from the this war than anybody else, now that the Iraqi oil is back under OPEC's thumb. Which is why Hugo Chavez is now a "grave concern." The statement may be true but lacks merit coming Saudi Arabia considering their conflict of interest with the Bushes, 911, and OPEC.

Well, we are not occupying it. If we were occupying the country, we wouldn't put all the effort into creating Iraq's government and trying to hunt down the fanatics. We would just flatten the country and take the oil. We are providing security until Iraq's own government can do it. The King was probably saying that to get more support from his own people or he was referring to other items.

19 illegal aliens of Arab descent attacked the USA on 9/11/01. What would you expect Saudi Arabia to say? What did Arabia do to help root out their terrorists? Isn't it possible that the King supported the Arab terrorists and knows that George W. Bush just used 9/11/01 to support his Vendetta against Saddam Hussein? Have you ever heard the saying, "Honor among thieves"?

Well Pip, could you also post some of his quotes on the legality of the state of Israel. He probably has some interesting insights of women's rights and the proper punishments of criminals.

I'm not sure how good a guide the king of the Saudis is for us.
