This is the third of three questions. Say you've known her since childhood, and you're both single now, but haven't seen each other for a long time...

You shave off your long hair after her parents discreetly commented on your mane and just before you saw her the second time again?

Is that something you would do if you only saw her as a platonic friend?

No. Why would I care how her parents felt? I wouldn't if we are just friends. I wouldn't care if we were more than friends. I would be considerate of how they felt (if we were more than friends) but I don't think that I would have to alter my appearance to make someone else happy that I'm not in a relationship with. Just ask him if he wants something more than a friendship.

There is no such thing for a guy as a "platonic female friend", it's something only women delude themselves into thinking. No guy wants a "platonic female friend", they are more trouble than they are worth. The only reason men have female friends it they hope to someday nail them. If your "platonic female friend" told her guy friend that they would never ever hook up (and he actually believed her), he would stop being her friend within a month.

Women really do need to get a clue on this.

Why do you assume he did it for you? Maybe your parents made him realize he really didn't look good with long hair... You may have nothing to do with it....
