I was just wondering for a laptop will any external floppy drive work or do you need a certain one for your brand of computer. I see on E-bay they list the names so I was just wondering before I order something. I have a Gateway laptop. Thanks.

External Hard drives usually connect using USB.

The best ones use USB 2 (but your compouter also has to have USB 2). This is much faster than USB 1, but USB 2 will connect to USB 1.

There should be little problem with connecting an external hard drive to your computer. I have known some people to have problems with USB compatibility, but generally speaking there should be no problem.

get a usb external floppy drive

and using ebay make sure it has a 30day return guarantee

that way if it doesn't work you can send it back

note: you won't need drivers for this
