ok... i hope this info helps, the person is my mother who just had hip surgery and has lupus. she hates to be alone. But if she doesn't go with her boyfriend he will lose his cabin. She wants to stay here with her friends and family and for herself but he has done alot for her and if she doesn't go out there she won't hear from him again. he is coming abck into the city thinking she is going to be moving out there with him so basically he is coming back to move her stuff out there and has no idea yet that she is having different thoughts. I hope this helps abit more.

I would definitely choose Option # 1. YOU don't have to give up anything by choosing that...if I have to make life changes, I won't change anything about myself or who I love etc...(pets) things like that, plus, this makes you a strong and more independent person. I also wouldn't be able to stand not going anywhere and not having my own transportation.

Two hours away is not that far, and it might be a really good change for her. I grew up on a farm over an hour away from town, and because of that I had a really healthy lifestyle. I got lots of sunlight, exercise, and fresh air. To me that sounds like a lot better than smoking in a tiny apartment while on welfare and taking medication. Plus she gets the guy that she likes/loves. It sounds to me like he is smart to expect her to quit smoking and pay him too. He is encouraging her to have a healthier life. Also, just like a guy shouldn't smooch off his girl, a girl shouldn't use her guy either. Leaving the dog is the only drawback...

You two options seem to be incompatible. How would you be able to pay your boyfriend the $500.00 and pay all your bills if you did not go on welfare. If you don't need welfare why would you then try to get on it to stay in the city?

You clearly want to stay in the city. Find a way you can do that and see your boyfriend when you can.

Option no. 1 because your friend would isolate herself by being 2 hours away and would be at the control so to speak of her boyfriend while still having to pay $. It's better to keep her independence and closeness to relatives and find someone to date who's willing to accept her and the dog.

WHAT THE HECK is the advantage of moving away? I didn't find any in what you wrote. I think you left out something very important, like where is "this person you know" living now?

You have to do what's right for you ... #1 sounds like your best bet. There's no shame in asking for help when you need it. And you'd have a better chance at life that way. Good luck, hon!
