PS - if you don't know what a backronym is or don't want to participate ... why answer?

Backronym IS a word. It is a portmanteau of back + acronym-A word interpreted as an acronym that was not originally so intended. This is a special case of what linguists call back formation.

But STFU stands for Shut the (f) up.

Other interpretations of that acronym are:
Scrawny Two-Faced Underling
Sir, That's Freakin Ugly (polite form)
Southern Tenant Farmer's Union
Star Trek Federation University
Say, thanks for understanding.
Step the F up (which means get some nerve)
Stuff you
Swim to France, ugly.
STupid F---er
Slippery Teflon from Utah
Stuff's finished up
Situation's finished up

Umm, do you mean an ACRONYM? What's a "backronym?"

Sorry, STFU has already been assigned a meaning, of which I am sure you are aware. We're not going to buy into this little charade.

I guess I stick to English. What do you speak?

How about Stifle Those Foolish Utterances. Shame its not STFR because then I would say "Stifle Those Foolish Responses" in reference to the other answer - its obvious you know what is usually meant when STFU is said - the other responder clearly didn't read the question.
