Not 'till the very end - that was less than a year ago, and they have already pretty much faded. Don't stress over them.

It depends on your size at the beginning of pregnancy. In the beginning I was weighing at 180 and I had morning sickness so I have went down to a mere 165. I just recently gained a pound, and you could tell, and yes I did acquire some. But there is cream that you could wear to prevent them. I am now a week away from my 5th month and I have no new ones to show except from when I lost the weight I had previously. Try the Palmers Cocoa Butter and the Stretch Mark Cream made by Palmers also if you are highly concerned about them.

I did not get them until 2 weeks ago I thought I wasnt going to get them at all and then they popped up out of nowhere. I was very vigilant with the vitamin E gel but it didn't work. I think it was because i was measuring small, 32 cm when I should have been 36cm then in 4 days my belly grew 5 cm. That growth spurt is when the stretchmarks appeared. When my belly was growing slowly my skin stretched just fine but my son had a massive growth spurt too quickly for my skin to adjust and there they are. Now I'm 38.5 weeks and boy do they itch. Some women are lucky enough not to ever get them but not me. Oh well.

it all depends on the person, and how stretchy their skin is. You get stretch marks when you skin continues to grow, and your skin cannot stretch anymore. (stretch marks are actually scars.)

Some women will not get stretch marks at all, and some will get them in their 6th, 7th,8th or 9th months.

Vitamin E works very well with the skin and improving the elasticity. rub a little bit on your belly from the beginning and your chances of stretch marks are less.

Just enjoy your pregnancy! Most women WILL get stretch marks, but good news - they will fade to a not so noticeable whitish color.

The day I went into labor with the first one, at 6 months with the second one, and the stretch marks just got bigger with the 3rd one!

But I've know friends that never got any!

Good luck with the baby!

I had 4 babies and never did get stretch marks. My oldest daughter, who is 27, is expecting our first grand-child, due April 26. She asked her doctor about when she'd get stretch marks. The doctor said not all women get them and it tends to run in families. If your mom had them then you are more likely to get them, too. I am fortunate that both my mother and my maternal grandmother (age 91) are both still alive. I asked them and neither of them had stretch marks either. My mom had 3 babies and my grandma had 6 pregnancies, but only 4 live births.
