You cannot tie into the shower drain. you need to tie into the main house drainline. The line also needs to tie into a vent or be back-vented.

What are the building regulations as regards plumbing a macerator toilet waste into a shower waste pipe?

There are no building regulations with respect to installing a macerator toilet other than part c of the electrical code. This calls for a qualified electrician to install any new electric spurs that are required to run the pump. However if you have a convenient power point, plug socket etc you can install the unit yourself.
The waste water from the toilet needs to go to a convenient foul water drain, you can use the shower pipe but you will need to install a non return valve or an anti syphon fitting in the pipe work of the shower to stop the toilet water from returning up the drain of the shower.

Pipe needs to be 54mm ,shower is to small but hope you realise macerator last resort when no drain (4inch )is aviable . The shower worked ,therefore you have a soil pipe close at hand ,no need to pay everytime you use the toilet (in electricity) gravity does the job for free ,do the job properly

you can not join into the shower outlet. think about it when you flush the toilet the $hit will go into the pipe and outside into an hopper first then into an open drain the smell will be very bad all around. i hope you do not live next door to me.
you have to direct the one and a half inches pipe from the macerator into the four inch waste pipe out side using a "boss" connection.

this is not the way to go ..the pressure of waste going down the pipe ..even if it is after a trapped waste could pull the water out of the shower waste trap and the smells could come back via the shower tray ..and building control would not let you do it

So far all are correct, but I'll add that all drainage in the bungalow will eventually lead to the main sewage drain, likely 4 inch pipe.

Certainly in cases where the main drain backs up, one might experience sewage coming up from a shower drain, but I cannot imagine one attempting to force that situation (No Offense)

The regulation is that you can't do it. the shower waste pipe is not vented like a sewage pipe should be. the only thing you can so is join them outside of the dwelling.
