The Constant Gardener was brilliant and Girl, Interupted was good although it did stray from the book quite a lot. The problem with adaptations is that you obviously can't fit every detail of a book into a film. Whilst for some people you are going to get it right, for others you are going to miss out a bit they loved in the book. It's true, you can't please all of the people all of the time. I really like the Harry Potter books and films but have found that the films often iss bits of the books I really like.

The best films I think made were the Lord of The Rings series, althought you cannot be a good book rather than a film made of it as you cant let your imaginiation run riot whilst watching the film, but when you read the book you can actually imagine yourself there.
The one book that was ruined by the film was "Flowers in the Attic" by Virginia Andrews. The film didnt even have the same ending as the book - what a rip!!

Best film made from book:
Gone With the Wind- very true to the original writings and even the embellishments that were added enhanced the story better.

Worst film made from book:
Amityville Horror- Book was very scary. Movie was a load of hooey and not in the least bit scary. Just trash!

Goodnight Mister Tom - Read it at school and the film with John Thaw was exactly like I imagined when I first read it.

I have`nt read either Lord of the Rings or the Harry Potter books, but I did enjoy the films.
