Because the whining from tree hugging Liberals over the past five or six years has made even The UK think twice before doing what they should do.
Also, they have to be PC and act like diplomacy is going to work.
Iran will release them, they will claim a great victory, and Liberals around the world will praise Iran for their loving treatment and rational behavior.

Yes Iran has captured 15 Marines and sailors of UK last week.
Becuase Iran is a super power in the region and Iran wants to
sell the oil on Western people in higher price.
because the US and UK bullying in the Persian Gulf.

If I were British, I would not count on the US to bail me out.
This congress would only apologize to Iran for being friends to UK.
