I'll be going from airport to Universal and then Universal to Orlando and back to airport. Is it worth renting a car or easier to just use public transportation?

If you don't plan to go offsite any more than this, then you will probably spend a little less using public transportation. However, if you don't have a large party and can get by with an economy car, you may be able to get a good price and spend less on the car. But, either way, the car will probaby end up being a little more with gas, parking, etc.

Taxi will be pretty expensive, it will be a lot fast and more convenient than a shuttle bus, but you will spend a lot more than taking public transportation or Mears.

Private transfers would be another option. Most companies will offer discounts if you do 4 transfers. The price would vary based on who you go with, but I think you could get all your transfers for around $150 or so, plus tips. I always go with a private transfer because it is quick and easy, but you do have to reserve it, so not everyone likes that, but most companies will work pretty well with you.

If you want have more freedom to get around, and also be able to get around faster, and you don't mind spending a little more and driving in Orlando, then I would go with a rental car. If you don't really want to drive, want to save money, and don't mind taking a little longer to get around and having a little less flexibilty to get around Orlando, then I would go with a shuttle or town car.

Have a great time!

Public transportation in Orlando is not very good...in fact it sucks. It will take a lot of time and cost more money than it would to rent a car.

If that is the only places you plan to travel to, the shuttle, or a cab is the most convenient. If you decide to do a little looking around on your own, you must then consider that rental car rates around the Orland area are among the lowest in the country.

i would just reccomend a shuttle. if you rent a car, you'll be paying for the price of the car, plus parking anywhere you go. it's a lot cheaper of a way to go.
