I am not an Indian and was horrified by the reaction of the Indian Cricket fans after their defeat in the hands of Sri Lanka. I know the Indians adore their cricketers but how can the players become encouraged after their fans burnt the pictures of their players, stoned and broke down thir houses? I love Indian cricket and the players in this world cup were having a really bad time. They are really talented and good players and everyone who knows cricket would know that its such an unpredictable game. Surely the Indian fans have seen enough cricket to realize that? We have forgiven and encouraged the players of my country after their defats and the Indians too sould doo that for the Indian cricketers to bounce back.
Good luck India!

Still I feel the punishment the Indians got from their fans is too cruel. Where were you when they were winning in West Indies just before World Cup anyway. I think more than anyone else the Indian Cricket fans are disgracing their country by behaving that way. My apologies if you feel that I am being frank but that I think is the truth. Anyone out there who agrees with me?

Of course their performance was very sub standard but do they deserve such treatment, ie from their own country men is the question. That kind of treatment will only demoralize them further.

I do not think that attacking the players or their houses and establishments is a good trend and it is not going to help the game. First of all people were dreaming India to bring the world cup. While there is nothing wrong in expecting even the impossisbles, one should understand that India were far below in rankings in International Cricket and as such expecting India to win the world cup by defeating all other top ranked teams in the world was asking for too much.

I strongly feel that public and media should leave the player alone to perform instead of praising them lavishly when the perform well in one or two matches and attacking them when they fail. One should understand that when a player fails to perform he will be the person most hurt and hence attacking him for his failure is adding salt to wound..

Yes, the reaction was justified. The so called heroes have brought insult to their motherland by losing so badly at the hands of minnow like Bangladesh.

Its only a game. True fans will realise that this team was not skilled enough to compete on a level ground with other teams.
