You wear what you want to wear - red shoes and a blue bag and a white shirt.
If you feel good in what you're in, that's what counts!
(If you're talking business suit - best to go with your friend, but out - go with the flow)

No. Rules like that are dumb.
If your shoes, skirt, and handbag all match you'll look very boring.
Mix it up a little. Wear different colors that mesh together nicely. I'm not saying like a yellow skirt, pink shoes, and a blue handbag.... well unless you're into that kind of thing, then you can rock it! But for most people, a complimentary color scheme in clothing is very flattering and nice.
Matching everything just makes you look like you're trying wayyyy too hard!
Tell your friend she needs to read a few magazines.
Runway outfits are neverrr super matchy matchy. That's not style... it's blahhh. Anyway, you're right. She's wrong.

I would say to wear what you want. Pick out things that make you feel great about you, things you sincerely like and wear those. I have many designer handbags and most of them don't match shoes. Develop your own sense of fashion and style. There are no rules carved in stone for that...no fashion police to arrest you. Be an individual and wear and use what pleases YOU. Style is not following after someone else because they are cool....style is loving yourself until everyone else does too!

I think the idea of everything matching went out in the '60s. Today you find that pocketbooks are coming out in all sorts of unusual colors, like Marc Jacobs and there is no way you are going to want to match shoes and pocketbook, just as a lot of shoes are gold and silver and you don't want to wear gold and silver pocketbooks at times you can wear simple gold and silver flats. So, I think the idea is wear what you want as long as it looks good.

NO! BEYOND WRONG!!!! Big rule to remember -
The shoes don't have have to match the bag and the bag doesn't have to match the outfit... just make sure the entire thing flows. If it doesn't you'll look like a clown.

I really don't believe in that fashion rules but it depends who you're talking to but most styles say no u don't have to all match with your bag and shoes but isn't style all about being yourself so why are going to listen to other people on how to dress just dress how you want to dress

geez, that`s such a load of nonsense, along the lines of not wearing white after labor day & other old-fashioned clothing "rules"...just find things that go well together (or not!) & suit u, u don`t have to always match or coordinate well...whatever works for u is cool!!! i don`t follow those silly "rules" when i get dressed & neither should anyone else, wear what expresses your personal style!!!

as long as they dont clash and one of them matches one other, its fine. but patterns on shoes shouldnt match bags exactly for example:
black shirt black shoes leopard print bag
or
leopard print shoes with black bag and shirt
or
purple flip flops with purple shirt and a polka dot bag
but not a
zebra shoes AND bag with a white shirt
i think you get the point.

of course not! definitely not! those are just lame rules made up by people who are afraid to try different things and would like to be forever "safe-looking" it's kind of dull...you gotte wear what you think is good on you even if it says united colors all over at the end of the day it's all in the wy you carry yourself
