They have concerts of Fremont Street for just about any event.

I was there in December(5th-19th)

I stay DT quite often, but I stay at either Main Street Station or the Golden Nugget.

Fitzgeralds is fine, it's located on the East end of the hotel cluster on Fremont. They have a lot of low limit gambling. The rooms are clean, but nothing special. You can get rooms that either overlook Fremont or if you request a room on an upper floor facing South you will be able to see the strip.
