I keep up with it through the internet and newspaper (Reno Gazette Journal). I feel its my duty as a citizen to know what's going on, so I will know how to vote is the next elections.
(Oh, unless I have surgery- like yesterday-- then I skip and catch up over the next few days...)

there is too much bad news but if you watch the news wherever you are you can't help but to stay up to date with these world events, the only thing that i have quit watching about is Anna Nicole Smith, i am so sick and tired of hearing new accusations every time they mention her name. i mean seriously the woman is dead for heavens sake, leave her and her son be and quit trying to convince America with all this publicity $hit about the baby. they need to get the paternity stuff resolved and then pretty much fall off the face of the earth and keep that baby safe. holly

The news is so boring now.
It's all doom & gloom.
Iraq, Global Warming, dishonest politicians, nuclear energy...
I watch political debate programmes such as Question Time, and the satirical ones such as Rory Bremner, and The Today Show.
I feel I get a real reflection of what is going on, which you don't get on the Rupert Murdoch owned news channels.

yes but I would love not to watch news for a day.
I watch the noon, 6 and 11 news no matter what. Too much info I think.

On occasion, but too much bad news.
Besides, I have my own little world events to keep up with.

Remember the media needs bad news to stay in business. Just ignore them.

I try my best to do so, but lately it's all been depressing. I know what's going on in a roundabout way but I do tend to stay away from the news if at all possible.
