FAT 32 = File Allocation Table 32 bits.

Microsoft uses this FAT table (internal and hidden) to store details of where all your files are stored on the hard-drive etc.

In new operating systems such as Windows 2000, NT, XP etc, you have an additional system called NTFS = NT File system which is much more powerful

It's a computer term, I'm sure of that.
What it means...well...I used to know. I think it's what you call it when you compress your hard drive in order to make more space on your computer for other things. (for example, if you are almost at your limit for space and you want to add another program or software that is large).
