I would have to say say yes as well! Like someone above me said, it's his versatility that makes him such a valuable asset to his team. Michael's ability to not only compete but to WIN the IM at any distance exemplifies this. Though he might not be the best backstroker or breastroker, his overall performance in the pool helps him easily clinch the #1 spot in my book!

I don't think he is THE best swimmer ever, but he may be ONE OF THE best swimmers ever....
I would say though that he could be the best butterfly swimmer ever!

He is the best swimmer ever...No one can compare to his versatility or world and Olympic medals and overall world records.

I would say yes, he clearly has the versatility, seeing as he can win the IM at all distances, sprint-short distance free, and the 200/100 fly(depending on Crocker).

just depends on what you tink he is pretty good but there are others like ian thorpe and jenny thompson and i don't know others but there are people just as good as him so it just depends on what you think
