at the end the pod experiences 16 hours, while the control room experienced couple of seconds. shouldn't it be the reverse?

I think she went through a worm hole. You can play any time game you want with those.

Think of it this way. If you left earth like the Pod in the movie and travelled faster than light, as you did so you would be going back in time as it pertains to earth (you would be passing those things that had happened and catching up to those that happened in the past). But time would still be passing for you normally in relation to you. Then time spent at you location and then travelling back to earth at faster than lightspeed would allow you to arrive back only a few seconds after you had left, yet time for you could have passed by hours weeks or days!

Cool stuff when you think about it.

If the control room is moving rather than the pod, its possible... Otherwise, its not possible (at least I never knew it was possible) to constrict time...
