I'm talking about a fish that can breed in a community tank without having a breeding tank. Also I would like it to be a pretty not to small and not to big egg bearer. A fish that breed on a spawning mop without a special breeding tank. ( Tank will have swordtails in it)And it is a ten gallon tank.

To be honest there isn't a fish that meets your needs. Fish that lay eggs in a spawning mop are not going to defend those eggs from the other fish inthe tank and will in fact eat the eggs themselves. Fish that would defend their eggs will not breed in a mop and would kill the other fish trying to defend the spawn. Sorry, but nothing really works for that situation.

Usually, if a fish breeds easily it is not a good parent and leaves the eggs and fry undefended. The exception is some types of african cichlids, and a ten gallon tank is too small for cichlids.

Also if you have swordtails in a ten gallon tank, there isn't much room for anything else, even if the swordtails don't breed - they grow approx. 3" long and need swimming room.

guppies are live bearers!!!! If you want to breed an egg bearing fish in a community tank you are going to have difficulty!! Angel fish are egg bearers, but most other fish WILL eat the eggs - especially plecos.

Try Guppies they have a high mortality rate but easily breed in community tanks. That is why they are so popular, prolific and are kept in separate tanks in the store.
