Mad Dog (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mad Dog are a hard rock band from London, England. Formed in 2000, they were originally named "Black Dog" as a tribute to the classic Led Zeppelin song. Their first gig came soon after, at The Mick Jagger Centre in Dartford.
Having changed to their current name in 2004, the band went on to have a successful year, reaching the UK final of Emergenza battle of the bands hosted at the Mean Fiddler on London's Charing Cross Road. Mad Dog eventually came 3rd in the competition, from around 800 original entrants.
In 2005 the band went on to play almost 40 gigs, including the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool. 2006 saw Mad Dog support a couple of big-name acts, namely Valume Nob in April, and, surprisingly, Peter Andre in July at Danson Festival in Danson Park.
In January 2007, the band lost drummer Rob Gamblin to fellow London band The Inbreds. He was immediately replaced with a new drummer, Dan Hill.
