I started going barefoot almost full time last year and went through a Chicago winter. I was amazed at how well one's body adapts and tolerated the cold. Down to 30° no problem - snow and wet gets a little colder. Below 30° I need to put on shoes after ½ hour of so. Many coldfotters on a website listed below if you're interested in finding out more.

When it snowed a few weeks ago. I wanted to take a picture of the square we live on before people started to put footprints in the snow. I went rushing out onto the balcony without even thinking about putting shoes on. Never again, I tell ya! It took me a good half an hour to warm them up again!

I made a snowman this winter with my best friend. the next day his eyes and nose fell out, so I decided to go out, in deep heavy snow, in my slippers to fix it...Both slippers got stuck in the snow, on my way to the snow man, but i just kept going, because I didnt feel like back tracking. .....bad idea..... bbaaaaaaaad idea...
