I know this may be a bit too late, and just to make it clear, I am NOT desperate or anything. I had applied to MIT, Brown and Rensselaer but I got rejected at both MIT and Brown. As you may all know, the deadline for fall passed a long time ago. Might any of you be knowing institutions of repute that offer International Undergraduate Spring admissions and that also give aid to Internationals. Whether a college is need based or need blind is not a criterion, but it HAS to offer aid. I am primarily interested in a science and engineering career (with minor(s) probably in some other subject.

Most student aid offered in the USA is money that originates with the federal government and is restricted to USA citizens or permanent residents. International students are not eligible to receive this kind of aid.

The money that is available from private funding may be available to some international students, but mostly at the graduate level where the student has an academic skill and can act as a research or teaching assistant. In some cases a university may agree to give an undergraduate international student a discount on tuition, but not actually provide any living expenses. Competition for scholarship money is very tough since over a million American students are applying for it annually.

It shouldn't be a surprise that for the most part, universities in the USA are going to give money to American students first, and are not really focused on giving money to foreigners.
