I live in North Carolina and just purchased a Kalanchoe plant. Can I plant this outdoors or is it an inside plant?

I live in NC too and I used to have Kalanchoe plants inside.
I quickly learned that they have to be wintered inside perhaps in a basement or somewhere it is mostly dark. They have a dormant period. They make a nice patio plant when the temps are warmer but I highly recommend keeping them in containers so you can move them.

Hi from SC. Kalanchoes can live outside until threat of frost. Root very easily by laying leaves on potting medium in a zip type plastic bag in sunny south window. Will rebloom. Have had some frost bit ones survive - remove damaged growth and pamper a little. Good luck

This plant can stay outdoors, but it's best to keep it inside during cold weather. I used to have a bunch outside, and they did fine. However, the lowest temperatures get here is about 30F, and only at night in the dead of winter. Kalanchoe are tropical plants, so it probably wouldn't do well outside in your area.

I believe the 1st answerer, the techniques of the leaves bypass yellow with overwatering and that they are in a position to drop off. The Kalanchoe needs to be taken care of virtually like a cactus. VERY dry situations. it is why it has such thick leaves. quite often Kalanchoe decide to be watered "from the backside", this implies soaking the pot in water particularly than pouring the water in from the coolest. The pot will soak up the water and then the stem has no longer gotten moist. The plant would or is probably no longer "terminal". there is not any reason to throw it away. do exactly no longer water for a minimum of a month and notice the way it seems. till it stinks.
