YES..they are sentient or have responce to outside stimulus or feeling.
Photos have shown this and testing results show improved growth from being cared for, spoken to kindly, and pleasant
music (not rock). Physics now works from theory of there being a universal glue of particles with consciousness, that react to other particles...These are found in all matter and in the space between matter. Thus, this is what was meant when

No they cannot, but your carbon dioxide helps them produce oxygen. Also, the vibration in your voice promotes growth and regeneration with the cell complex of the plant.

No. But talk to them as they absorb carbon dioxide which comes out of your mouth when you talk will and frow faster
