No, it's a fact

Here is a fact. In a typical day, on the average a woman will speak three times as many words as a man. Now does that mean that men aren't communicating well or that women talk too much?

Its not that we don't communicate as well, its that we communicate differently. Look at it like shopping styles.
A woman goes to the mall for to buy a shirt, she'll look at matching shoes, a new purse, and stop at 8 different stores. She'll take 2 hours to purchase the 1 item she truly needed to get.
A man walks in, buys the shirt, walks out. Done in 5 minutes.

We communicate the same way. A woman tends to cover every aspect of every detail, because to her they're significant on some level. A man gets his point out in as few words as possible and ignores the rest of the just as pointless to mention.

As a man I often find the way women go about getting to the point as tiresome. That's not to be insulting, its just why not just say whats really bothering you than needing to drag through 50 other points to get to the main topic?! Its not that we as men do not care, its simply that we work the exact opposite in this area as women. I'd much rather get to the main point, resolve it, and then deal with all the smaller things than do it the other way around.

It is a myth. Men just communicate differently than Women. Therefor some Women confuse this with a lack of communication.
The trick to it is to find a partner that you can communicate with and that you understand the way that they communicate.
There I just solved 50% of divorce.

Not sure. Might be that they communicate BETTER than a woman sometimes. If you ask a guy where he bought his shirt and he may say Dillard's. If you ask a woman where she got hers at, she will tell you about all the places she went to get a shirt, all the people she saw while looking, and ten minutes later, she will tell you where she got that shirt. On the other hand, a female is taught from an early age that it's OK to express her feelings. But guys are taught the opposite. So if you ask a woman what's wrong, she'll tell you. If you ask a man what's wrong, he doesn't want to stir anything up, so he says nothing is wrong, when there really might be something wrong.

As I am quickly learning it is not that they don't communicate as well as women they just don't take as many things to heart as we do. They have the uncanny ability to let stuff just roll off their backs and not think of it again.

Then again there are some men that also have as much empathy as women and there are some women that don't have much or any empathy at all.

It is just the man or the woman you are talking about.

What I have noticed about women over the years is that even when you meet one who appears to be, how can I put this gently, "less intelligent than a scientist," they still seem to have a better understanding of interpersonal relationships than most men I know or have known.

Men just do not, as a rule, feel the need to concern ourselves with other's innermost "feelings." It's difficult for me to even say it, but women just feel better and men think better, if you ask me.....and you did, so there....

No, it is fact. ONLY BECAUSE APPEARANCES MAKE IT SEEM THAT WAY.
BUT, IT IS BECAUSE COMMUNICATION IS APPROACHED BY THE 2 DIFFERENTLY.
Women just have not learned yet how to communicate with their male mate, at a level to which HE is comfortable & willing to express himself fully. The more THEY come on strong with Nazi SS Gestapho techniques, the more HE will shut down, close up shop, watch ESPN, or go to Hooters for a few drinks to forget all about talking.

I think with a man you have to pick the right time to talk about an issue. Women will drop whatever they're doing to listen and talk about a problem. But with a man you need to remember not to try to talk about an issue while he might be distracted. (No offense guys, just my experience)

Yes, they just do it very differently than women. It's a tough job to do, but men and women just have to figure each other out.
