There are several groups of fans - Here they are broadly classified -
The optimists: These fans think that India will win the World Cup. They think that losses are just a result of bad weather, poorly laid wicket, toss,… anything but poor performance. To them, the umpire is vampire, Sachin is God and oh yeah — Azharuddin and Jadeja are innocent.
The Pessimists: They are the exact opposite of the optimists as the name suggests. They think the Indian team is good for nothing. Some believe past players were far more competent and old days were golden days. Vouch by statistics when it suports their views and redicule the same (I was a different era) when it does not. Some of the most popular beleifs are - Sachin needs to retire. Dravid bats too slow. Ganguly is no good. And Sehwag should be dropped. Pathan should never be picked. Sometimes I feel like telling them dude we do need 11 players to play a match. But hey, they still support Team India. I am still trying to work this one out.
The “see-saw” club: These are the fans that think that India is the greatest team after every win and shower praise on the players who performed in the win. After one loss, India become the worst team in the world and should stop playing cricket… that is, until the next match starts.
The “hidden admirer” club: A lot of people belong to this group. They admire a certain cricketer, but will never accept it. For some reason, a lot of Ganguly’s fans are members of this club. This club has also branched out to a sub-club: Members of this club think that if they keep criticizing the player they like, they will somehow score runs or take more wickets.
The Super superstitious fans: These people think that they magically control India’s fortunes based on the place or position they sit in. Even a slight shift from this position will cost India a wicket. Oh yeah, they also try and repeat the winning formula — i.e., wear the same ‘winning’ clothes while watching matches, or do the same things repetitively while watching a game. People have been known to not watch matches, because India loses every time they watch. At times most fans have been part of this club in one way or the other.
The “Knee jerk” fan club: After one failed (or even a few failed) innings or matches, they want the player’s head. They are often known to have advocated that the whole team be sacked (and replaced with whom, we do not know). The coach is usually the first on their list of people to be sacked, followed by the players, the selection committee, BCCI and so on. A lot of members the media (or the braying mediocrity of Indian cricket) and some ex-players belong to this club as well. The radicals in this club go as far as burning effigies of players and stoning their houses.
The “stat” club: It is amazing how some of these fans can spit out records and statistics faster than you can say “database”. They also have a photographic memory of innings and events. If only they put these skills to a much better use…
The pundits: These are people who have never played the game, but prefer analyzing the finer aspects of game. These people discuss things like Pathan’s wrist position during ball delivery or Sehwag’s bat angle when it makes contact with the ball.
The Internet fans: These fans, armed with Google, Wikipedia and a zillion RSS feeds, scour through hundreds of sites looking up data and articles about the Indian team and their favorite players. A majority of them live overseas and these sites help them keep in touch with the sport and the team they have come to love. Some of these fans have even started blogging about cricket - providing an alternate viewpoint of the game and its players. Professional writers, watch out!
See saw is the dominant group. that is the reason.

We are insane. We are a below average team. we have always been one and we will always be one. The team selection is controlled by senior players, who are out of form and have no business to interfere with the the team selection and on top of this we have interference at various levels.
You stop deifying cricket players . A Sport or a Game is something what you do over a period of one to one and a half hours. Hockey, Basketball,
Football are the ones which test your capability.
Criket is a lazy game which ought to be banned in India, which is a hot country.. It is a game for cold countries. Even British people do not much care for this game.
As somebody once said,11,000 fools are watching a game played by 11 and odd *****. That is cricket.
Okay, how did the games get fixed? Who is supposed to lose and who is supposed to win?
You could even see God, but fixing and murders we dont know.At the end of the day, our demigods crickecteers are only intersted in their money, not the game.

Winning and losing is the part of the game of cricket. What Indian players lacked this time was the fighting spirit. Against Bangladesh, India scored a petty 185 runs whilst against Sri Lanka no one could stand up with a fighting spirit (except for Dravid and Sehwag).

Did you see the match between BD and India? Sachin got out of a ball which was very wide. He gave a catch. Did you see the comeback man Ganguly? You will literally cry.
Yuvy was in the night club the previous night. Excepting for Rahul Dravid, the rest played a dirtiest game against BD.

I'm very sorry to say that we are NOT right fans. We are unjust & inhuman when we react the way we're doing so after return of our cricketers after our defeat in World Cup matches as if the players are taking their fees directly from us. We don't deserve to be called civilized citizens of a so big country. Good people have big hearts. Does freedom mean doing anything abusive, obsence, rude, harsh, rogue, violent & goonda style at the name of artificial patriotism ? Is it patriotism or traitorship ? I'm sorry to say by doing so we deserve to be called 'people of jungle culture', undoubtedly. Of course, not all fans are so.

cricket is a game just like football bsaket ball kabaddi etc. fans do cry alot when indian cricket team loses games. what happened to their patratism to other sports. how can a person like celbrities do earn crores of rupees for their life, when cretain players of hockey are starving for food. so fans are highly selfish want to timepass and expects entertaining them by winning matches. it is so shocking thar certain fans are dying of heart attrack when they lost game. fans have to change their attitude and start sport persons service camps to encourage them. cricket is not only in worldcup. but other tournments also great . just feel proud when u win.

Yes Sir you are a genuine cricket lover to raise this question of autmost importance.
So mark my words.Fans are fans....
They have right to absorb the trills & spills of
this glorious game of Cricket.
Nobody can deny it.
They have every right to critizise the teams,
since they spend their valuable time & money.
Not for bettingwith bookies though.
Selfless cricket fans are now to blame on team's defeat? Some say,"Fans made enormous presure"?
Nonsense,no way, it is correct...
It's team duty to perform....fan's duty to cheer them up.
But fan can not be foolish to believe that, their
players are some kind of Gods !
Fans are intelegent. They are not fools.
This is not blind love! This is self less patriotism.
you can crtitisize them but not to stone them!
So keep enjoy Cricket...
Not to lose faith on your team!
Long live Cricket !!!!
Long live sporty fans!!!!
