How does the dialer generate phone numbers? Randomly? Do you, yourself load it with numbers? How bout if you wanted a specific market, how does that work? Thanks in advance for the answers.

Most of the time you have to BUY the list to load these. There are several sources which claim to deliver phone numbers by zip code, area code, etc. You buy the list and "build" the database. (Then get ready for the fines as some lists fail to pay attention to the do not call lists!)

Good luck - personnally I wish these things were outlawed!

The dialer uses a pre-generated list of numbers, and sets of rules when dialing (such as time zones, time of day, etc...).

Typically, you use some software or contact a company and give them your specs on how you want to generate numbers (city, state, zip, area code, exchange, demographics, etc...).

Depending on what you want, some companies can generate very specific results (email me if you want more info, the company I work for does a lot of this very well).
