I am currently doing law/commerce and finishing my commerce degree this year, but still has another 2.5 years to finish law. However, my passion for medicine has grown over the past year and I am considering dropping law and change into medicine. As you probably are thinking, it would be a huge change for me and I really want to be 100% sure before I make my decision either way. All your inputs are greatly appreciated.

I have been browsing through the answers and questions on this website and I find them very useful.
Thanks in advance!

There are a great many different types of careers in the field of medicine, and you didn't leave any clue about which kind you're thinking of. A good bet would be to contact an organization or a school that brings together the people who have the career you're thinking of, and ask for their advice. Most professional organizations also have periodicals or magazines that you can begin to browse through to see what the various issues are affecting that industry.

You need to have the time, the well and the ambition. In your studying years, you need to be that person who is responsible and caring more than others for your future, still u can live an enjoyble life style with friends, but u might be more serious stress than ur current situation. When working in medical field, it actually depends on the field u are wokring in: Surgery, Psychiatry, rehabailitation, ER .. etc... But a general rule is that u need to have eagle eyes, lady hands and lions heart. Love tender and care for patients in a proffesional way, and on top of that, the feelings of likeness towards your job.... Dont chose Medicine for Money.

Good Luck

The best kind of dr is one who is patient, listens well when the patient is giving a lot of information about history and is also compassionate. If you are afraid of seeing blood I would recommend starting to watch a lot of programs on tv such as about birth and such so that you can get comfortable with it.

Someone who is patient, honest and caring, there are so many doctors and nurses out there who are just out for money and not the welfare of the patient so I say honest and caring most of all.

I think compassionate has to be one of the key components as well as outgoing. You have to take a psych test so it really doesn't matter. If they don't think you can handle it-they won't recommend you.

I think as long as you are passionate about something, and believe in yourself, then you are suited to the job.
