I have a few sentimental things, mostly related to my kids, but my strangest one would hav to be the Jaguar figurine from the front of a Jag that knocked me off my bike when I was about 8 years old. I was being a little bit stupid and not taking notice of the road, and got hit sideways on by the car. I rolled off the bonnet, taking the little figurine off in the process. I can remember being more upset about the dent I had made on the car than I was about the severe case of road rash I had all down on leg. The guy that owned the car let me keep the little Jaguar as a reminder to take more care when I was out on my bike. It's in a little box in my bedside cupboard, and I wouldn't part with it for the world.

When I was about 10 years old my Grandfather painted a picture of me, my big brother and my Nanna. I moved over to New Zealand and about a year later my Grandfather died and I inherited that painting. It is now hanging on the wall in my living room. It means a lot to me because I never got to go to either my Grandfather's funeral or my Nanna's (for different reasons that I won't bore you with) and I never got to say goodbye to them properly. This painting is the closest thing I have to a family portrait and I will treasure it always.

When I was 9, my cousins gave me a silver pendant in the shape of a ballerina. I value it because it reminds me of my days in ballet and now that I'm not, I can still look back at those times. My parents made a copy of the pendant in white gold for my 13th birthday present and I treasure it too (:

Everything actually. You know life, the healthy body, active mind...everything. But I guess you are talking about personal, material "things."

For me, it's my wedding ring and all our photos with my then boyfriend, fiance and now husband. They are sentimental because they remind me of how much happiness and joy my husband could make me feel. They always remind me of how much my husband loves me despite this long distance relationship.

What's yours?

I had this BIBLE given by a friend on Christmast of '95. We had misunderstanding and no communication for seven years. And it was only last year when we had a memorable "mending of two broken souls."
