Sourav reaches Kolkata to hero's welcome
Friday March 30, 12:26 PM
Kolkata, March 30 (IANS) It was not a conqueror's homecoming, but former cricket captain Sourav Ganguly was Friday accorded a surprisingly warm welcome at the airport here with fans loudly cheering him. The scene at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport Friday morning was in sharp contrast to the homecoming of the other members of Team India who returned empty handed from the World Cup. Most team members, who crashed out in the first stage and lost to minnows Bangladesh, reached their hometown in scattered groupings, trying to melt into the darkness. However, Sourav's return was public and greeted with cheers.

He doesn't deserve anything. He is just trying to be a hero by scoring. He doesn't do anything for the team , it is all for himself . . He wants to regain his captaincy

People say that he only cares about himself but a real cricketer will always believe that his score is adding to the team and not only counting in his scores. He deserves the cheers because apart from Yuvraj, he also played a very well innings. In fact, we should have him as his captain and coach should be Wasim Akram or Kapil Dev. Other junk people who are illiterate for the game of cricket will say that he cares about himself.
In the match against Bangladesh, he played very well. He should get that sort of welcome. No matter how he scored a 60, whether in 100 balls, 200 balls or 250 balls doesn't matter. The main object is that every player playing well. His 98* against Bermuda is also outstanding. He hit 3 sixes and 8 fours. He didn't fail to deliver that shot.
And one thing, not bad kolkata but, BAD CHAPELL and his Perth or Melbourne or whatever. He was the reason behind our team's loss.

How can u say that he doesnot deserve all this????
I donot belog to Kolkota but still I think that he deserves all this praise. He has played so well , and for the team not for himself . According to me he is the onlyone who played well. And what is wrong if he becomes the captain again????
The Indian Team has suffered a lot due to rahul dravid's and Greg Chappel's EXPERIMENTS!!!!!!!

No Sir, his period is over .Morally he himself should retire & vacate the place for a new young player. That will be better in the interest on Indian team.

No Way, I was in all praise for him earlier. I thought that he has come back for good, but when I compared the runs scored wrt balls faced, I was shocked and surprised. i had been an ardent fan of his but now I am having second thoughts.

I fully agree with you. He has not done anything great to get any applaud from people. In fact he failed miserably in the match against Sri Lanka.

Yes I think he does. Because he and Yuvraj were the only ones who played well.
