my little girl was born asleep. and i had to wait six weeks to get the blood test results. the consultant said they found e-coli in the placenta and that i should get pregnant again as soon as possible. could someone please explain what affect the e-coli has had on my baby and me as i need to know the risks if i want more children.

im sorry to hear that!!

I think like skreamz said you should go back and demand to know what it means.

They should have told you while you was there and dont be afraid to say you dont understand what they are saying because i have had that and you just dont know what they mean sometimes!!!

Best of luck!!

Im sooooo sorry to hear of your loss. I have ben through the same as you. I lost my baby at 22 weeks. Go to your docs or make appointment with your consultant as they are the best ones to help you. I cant believe that all your questions were not answered when it happened. I didnt even have an explanation as it was apparently just one of those things but now i have a little girl of 10 months old. Good luck and i hope you get the amswers you need.

Im not 100% clear of your question but I am so sorry you had to experience a loss.
E Coli is a germ that can cause preterm labour.

Im unsure why a dr would say to fall pregnant soon.

Ever had a urinary tract infection? E Coli can cause that.
Ever had food poisoning? E Coli again.

Im not sure if you mean you had preterm labour, then delivered at term... or delivered at 19 weeks...or you are 19 weeks now and this is the bub youre concerned about.

Speak to your health advisor please as they know more of the situation then us.

First of all your baby was born way too early, Then she was a meucomium baby. Meaning that she probably pooped a little and it got in her lungs. e coli is the germs in poop.
I am so sorry for your loss.

This doesn't happen that often and the risk of it happening a second time is less.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I think you should go back and demand they explain to you properly what has happened.
