Dumping the clutch means that when you went to let up on the clutch (from a stop), you did it too quickly, the car stumbles, and stalls. A "HOLE SHOT" is "POPPING THE CLUTCH", You rev up the engine, and snap the clutch up fast, making the tires spin.

Dumping the clutch means letting it out quickly.
Whatever you do, don't let the clutch snap back by sliding your foot off the clutch.
I would recommend practicing on a racing simulator instead of your car.
If you have a high horsepower car, dumping the clutch will just cause you to spin your tires.
Also it will wear out not only your clutch, but your transmission as well.

Dumping the clutch is referring to off the line starts. Reving the engine and just popping the clutch out is referred to as dumping. Never a good thing to do.

Quickly releasing the clutch, or letting your foot slip off the petal and the clutch pops up all the way.
This is a used to pull a hole shot (spinning tires)
Or more commonly to stall the car at a light.

some really older cars made you double clutch
meaning - you had to push the cluth in to take it out of gear
put in neutral - let clutch out - then back in
put shifter into next gear - let clutch out
or DUMPING the clutch may mean just taking your foot off
and letting it slam into place in the next gear
NOT recommended for long life of the clutch

sometimes when you speed shift you don't actually push clutch in and let it come up you slam it to the floor and let your foot slid off the pedal letting it pop up (engage) on it's out hard on drive componants but it is the fastest possible shift assuming you did get the gear when you shifted.

Got a fair idea that you are responding to one of my previous answers. other posters are correct, looks like I was not thinking straight when I posted my previous answer. I should have written "de-clutch".
