Anil Kumble is retiring only from the shorter version of the game. He will still continue playing in tests. Anil Kumble is not the all time best spinner for India. That fame belongs to any one of the spinning quartet of the seventies.

Since Anil Kumble has not been a regular member in the playing 11 in ODI matches, his decision to retire from ODI matches is absolutely correct. However, he will continue to play Test cricket.
