Something besides Victorian?

Regency perhaps, French Regency in particular. I'm not sure if it's a style of architecture as much as a style of interior design though.

Seriously, I would call it 'a total mess' The gothic revival was over and not much had been found to replace it. William Morris and friends were following a simpler design ethic with the 'Arts and Crafts Movement' he only built one building, however - The Red House:- http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/w-visits/w-findaplace/w-redhouse/
