The King of Saudi Arabia yesterday said the US prescence in Iraq was an illegal occupation and President Bush countered with the statement that we were legitimately in there at the Invitation of the Iraqi people under a UN mandate.

To justify invading Iraq in the first place, Bush was using UN Resolution 1441.

However UN Security Resolution 1546 in 2004 ended the occupation. Supposedly, the US has said they will leave IF they are asked to by the Iraqi government but they have not been asked ... To be fair I have heard speeches by the Iraqi PM saying that Iraq needs the coalition forces.
