Yes, I have met "evil" ppl in my life. The emotional scar they left behind, took years to overcome.
Sometimes I look back and think: That person, so evil, made me stronger somehow.
At the time, I was a wreck but here I am, looking back and serene about the whole thing.

I had a strange issue with the law, that I dont need to get into, but suffice to say, because of various really absurd consequences, I found myself in this temporary holding cell where they transfer inmates (in this annoying full restraining jacket, hands and feet) from one county to another for trial when they are arrested in a different county than they one they are wanted in.
Anyway I shared by cell with this guy, who was in fact for me the the begging of my realization that there is such thing as evil. It was not even anything that he did, but I think i have some gift with empathy, and I can sortof 'feel' a person's character...everyone can, more or less. This guy had a presence that was nothing liek I had felt before. I dont know what he did to be in jail, and he didnt really do anything to me other than ask some very strange questions that I didnt even really understand. but I could just TELL that this guy had a passion for cruelty, and only for the sake of cruelty. That is the only person I heve met, that I gnuinely felt was perhaps evil, who i had no way of understanding. And I suppose this is not interesting, because I cant explain it by his actions or anyting concrete, so it could easily be my own delusions that make me feel this way. But i dont think so. Before i met this guy, i belived that EVERYONE only did 'wrong' things because of misunderstanding or bad circumstances or context (and I had been mugged and shot before this). I do not think that anymore. this guy had an amazing, supernatural kind of insanity, which was so powerful that his mere presence would make you feel weak and nauseous. He must have been some kind of serial killer.

I have met a few people that do not have a conscience. They were all good at pretending to have one. I think it's some sort of mental disorder. These people were never very happy. I feel sorry for them but I do not allow them into my life. I don't think that they can change.

I have never suffered as much as from a person whom i don't really know what he thinks of himself. Superior? I don't really know. He is a sadist. He made a fool out of me, hid himself under several masks just to gather information about me, didn't care how much I have dwelved into confusion, health decline and all that. I have loved this guy-but wait, i think it is because he knew I loved him that he treated me that way. No matter, I didn't deserve him or the things he did to me. The persona that he knew I thought it was him has gone, but I know he is still trying to get through me through here at yahoo answers. Well, message for that buddy, stay out of my life completely. I no longer love him, and it's going to take a lot of more than msn and yahoo answers to bring back that feeling.
He is one evil guy who didn't care to add more suffering for me regardless how i suffer enough of my own life.

Yes. When I was doing an undercover job for a friend who was a Drug Enforcement Agent. One guy in particular told me in great detail how he tortured a guy for stealing from him. My impression was that he actually killed the guy but he didn't go so far to say it. This guy had no sign of having the slightest bit of a conscience.

I just came across this quotation from George Stevens, filmmaker, and I reckon it belongs here before I forget it. He had filmed DDay and the liberation of Paris, and had just come across his first concentration camp:
It is a fierce thing to discover in yourself that which you despise in others.

Yes, people suck! Watch the news and see how people treat each other, it sickens me. If they feel bad to you get away from them, it's some kind of intuition telling you Something!
I much prefer animals~
