Some books should be vertical, some stacked flat. Add some things of interest to break it up, such as a big conch shell, pottery, picture frame, etc.

Arrange the hard books vertically .Place a lovely pen stand just before it. Try to arrange the book to their height. Hang a lovely picture in the wall beside it.Always use wooden bookshelf. They look antique.Don't load so many books on a shelf.

first of all arrang your books into subject wise. then arrang books into size wise. if you have many shelves in your bookshelf then make partition for each subject. put your books on each shelf by sizewise. make some artistic label as per your subject, suppose your subjact is maths make your label like geomatric shape and write "maths" on label stick it to its shelf. by this way make another label as per its subject and stick it on its place. also put some related items or instruments on each shelf so it can make you to find things easily.
